None of these forecasts lock in exact snowfall totals or storm dates months in advance, and NOAA itself has cautioned that seasonal outlooks describe broad tendencies rather than specific events. Still, the underlying signal driving all ten of these states is the same: a strengthening El Niño reshaping where storms track and how much moisture they carry. Whether that arrives as desert rain, Gulf Coast severe weather, or East Coast nor’easters will depend on details forecasters will keep refining as winter approaches.
